On April 28, 2026, at the National Opera and Ballet in Skopje, DMO Povardarie was presented on the European stage during the awarding of the prestigious EUMEL (Excellence in Local Governance) recognition, followed by the evening promotional event “Povardarie Night.”
This day was not merely a formal entry in the calendar, but a clear confirmation that Povardarie is positioning itself as a region that builds a model of successful cooperation and modern destination management.
The morning event brought strong institutional support and visibility. In the presence of high-level state representatives, the European Delegation, and the diplomatic corps, among others, DMO Povardarie received the EUMEL recognition – an award granted for excellence in local governance, destination management, and inter-municipal cooperation. The event featured speeches, presentations, and video content that told the story of the region’s development and its potential.
The real energy of the day, however, continued into the evening. “Povardarie Night” was not just an event, but an experience. In an atmosphere filled with interaction, flavors, and authenticity, the region was presented to representatives of the EU, diplomatic missions, the business community, and the tourism sector. The presence of the private sector, particularly from several municipalities, added further dynamism and provided a realistic picture of what Povardarie offers – not only as a destination, but as a living economic and tourism ecosystem.
Throughout the day, visual storytelling played a key role. The promotional videos branded under Povardarie were showcased as part of both the official program and the evening event, leaving a strong impression on attendees. These materials, together with short video formats and photographs, form an important foundation for further digital promotion.
Special attention was also given to the promotion of the new DMO Povardarie website, which was presented to a wider audience for the first time. Through the distribution of links, QR codes, and press releases, the platform was positioned as a central communication and promotion channel for the region. The interest from the media and the positive coverage further confirmed the importance of this step.
What makes this event particularly significant is the fact that it opened new opportunities for connection. Contacts with tourism agencies, tour operators, and business partners create a solid foundation for further development and positioning of Povardarie on the tourism map.
